1.1. The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to assist the Olfactive Society Inc (Olfactive Society) to maintain a harmonious and ethical environment in our activities, which upholds the Olfactive Society’s purpose and values.
2.1. This Code of Conduct applies to all members, employees (including temporary employees), contractors, consultants and volunteers of the Olfactive Society.
3.1. All Olfactive Society people are expected to behave in ways that are aligned with our purpose and values.

3.2.1 The purposes of the Olfactive Society are to:

We strive to create an environment where members feel a sense of belonging and are encouraged to uplift one another.
3.3.1.2. Inclusivity and Diversity: We welcome and celebrate members from all backgrounds. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone is treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or ability. We believe that a wide range of perspectives and experiences enriches our community and the art of perfumery.
3.3.1.3. Fair and Respectful Treatment: Every member of our community has the right to be treated fairly and with respect. We have a "no dickheads" policy, which means we do not tolerate any form of harassment, discrimination, or behaviour that is intimidating, hostile, or offensive. We are committed to providing a safe and positive environment for all our members, and we will take any complaints of unfair or disrespectful treatment seriously, addressing them through our dispute resolution procedures.
3.3.1.4. Integrity and Ethical Conduct: We conduct ourselves with integrity in all our activities. This includes being transparent in our operations, responsible in our management of the association, and honest in our dealings with members and the public. Committee members are expected to act in the best interests of the association, with a duty of care, diligence, and good faith, and to manage any conflicts of interest appropriately.
3.3.1.5. Education and Empowerment: We are dedicated to educating the public and our members about the art of perfumery and the significance of smell. We aim to empower our members by providing them with a platform to learn and grow, showcase their work, expand their knowledge, and connect with a wider audience. We believe in sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous learning and creativity.
4.1. The Code of Conduct sets out the expected standard of behaviour of all members of the Olfactive Society.
4.2. The Code of Conduct and the behaviours outlined within it are fundamental to the Olfactive Society building healthy, positive, and respectful relationships with our community. The Code of Conduct also governs the way in which members are expected to relate to one another, guests, external professionals, participants in our activities, and other stakeholders.
4.3. The Code of Conduct is not intended to provide a detailed and exhaustive list of what to do in every aspect of our activities. Instead, it represents a broad framework that will help guide conduct and behaviour in Olfactive Society activities.
5.1. To create a positive environment, all participants are expected to:
5.1.1. Our core values underpin all that we do. They are:
5.1.1. Be Respectful and Considerate: Treat all individuals with respect and dignity. Value diverse opinions, styles, and points of view, even when they differ from your own.
5.1.2. Communicate Constructively: Engage in discussions with a constructive and positive attitude. Criticise ideas if necessary, not people.
5.1.3. Be Welcoming: Actively welcome and support newcomers to the community. Be approachable and foster a sense of belonging.
5.1.4. Respect Boundaries: Be mindful of personal space and boundaries. Respect confidentiality and the privacy of others.
5.1.5. Act with Integrity: Conduct yourself honestly and ethically. Represent the Olfactive Society in a professional and positive manner.
6.1.1. The Olfactive Society Inc. has a "no dickheads" policy. The following behaviours are considered unacceptable and will not be tolerated:
6.1.1.1. Harassment: This includes, but is not limited to, unwelcome comments regarding gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion; deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention.
6.1.1.2. Discrimination: Any form of discriminatory behaviour, language, or imagery.
6.1.1.3. Bullying: Intimidating, hostile, or offensive behaviour that undermines or humiliates an individual.
6.1.1.4. Hate Speech: Any communication that expresses hatred or encourages violence towards a person or group based on the attributes listed under Harassment.
6.1.1.5. Intellectual Property Theft: Sharing or distributing proprietary information, such as perfume formulas, confidential business practices, or copyrighted material, without explicit permission from the owner.
6.1.1.6. Misuse of Information: Using member lists or private information gained through the society for unsolicited commercial purposes or personal gain.
7.1. At Events: Adhere to all rules and policies of the venue. Be mindful of others' sensitivities to scents; while we are a smell focused group, we aim to create a comfortable environment for all.
7.2. Online Forums & Social Media: Do not post spam, off-topic content, or excessive self-promotion outside of designated areas. Do not share private conversations or data from the community without consent. All online interactions should be professional and courteous.
8.1. A conflict of interest arises when a person's private interests, or the interests of a close family member, business partner, or associate, could improperly influence their decisions or actions in their role within the Olfactive Society.
8.1.1. For All Members: Members should not use their association with the society for undue personal or commercial advantage in a way that harms the Olfactive Society or its members or is antithetical to the Olfactive Society’s Purpose.
8.1.2. For Committee Members: Committee members hold a position of trust and must act in the best interests of the Olfactive Society. They are required to:
8.1.2.1. Disclose Conflicts: Promptly disclose any potential, perceived, or actual conflicts of interest to the rest of the committee.
8.1.2.2. Abstain from participating in any discussion or voting on matters where a conflict of interest exists.
8.1.2.3. Maintain Confidentiality: Not use confidential information obtained through their position for personal gain or to the detriment of the Olfactive Society.
9.1. A conflict of interest arises when a person's private interests, or the interests of a close family member, business partner, or associate, could improperly influence their decisions or actions in their role within the Olfactive Society.
9.2. How to Report: Reports can be made to any current Committee Member or by sending an email to the [email protected]. All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality.
9.3. Enforcement: The Olfactive Society Committee will investigate all reported incidents.
9.4. If a participant is found to have engaged in unacceptable behaviour, the committee will take any action it deems appropriate pursuant to the Olfactive Society’s Articles Rules.
9.5. Consequences may range from a verbal warning to temporary or permanent expulsion from the Olfactive Society and its events without a refund.

Your product and materials to 'dress' your table. Marketing and decorations are to be kept to the table only.Stalls are to be staffed by the brand's perfumers or creative directors in order to promote community and connection.
